Boys & Girls Club
Interdisciplinary Arts Programming
Centenary Church, Scout Hall, and Prodigy Leadership Academy host the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri for afterschool programming. The Arts Council joins once a week to offer interdisciplinary art classes. This partnership began in 2024 and is continually growing. By the end of 2025, this program expanded to include music programming as well as visual arts.
Please help us thank our team of art educators who have made this program possible,
Kelly Downes, Kristen Englehart, Tiffany Johnkoski, Carol Horst, Gabby Hecktor, Jesse Steele, Pierce Yates, and Helen Towner
Afterschool Programming
2025 was a year of successful after school visual and performing arts programming with the Boys & Girls Club! Please help us thank Centenary Church, Prodigy Leadership Academy and Scout Hall for hosting these classes.
Our summer programming included bucket drumming and visual arts from the ancient world!
In the fall, students explored music and visual art from Medieval to Renaissance ages, as well as from Japan, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. They were able to apply what they learned with hands on projects!
There’s plenty in store for 2026! From Impressionism to Modernism and Jazz to Hip Hop, this spring is going to bring very exciting programming. We can’t wait to reconnect with the students and have some fun!
