I will talk about my process in composing this new work, in a relatively short time frame, as well as learning about the sonata musical form in general and ways to play with traditional forms to help and inform modern composition. Other pieces and excerpts, both original and contemporary, will also be looked at shortly to explore these ideas both on and off the guitar. In exploring these ideas we will also touch on some challenges and tricks to composing for the guitar.”
