Girardot National Juried Exhibition

Girardot National Juried Exhibition was develpoed by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri to provide a forum for artist on a national scale to compete and display their work.  The selected art features both traditional and "cutting edge" work and will be exhibited at the Arts Council's Gallery 100 and Lorimer Gallery.

Eligiblity: Open to all artist 18 years and older living within the United States.  Entries must be original works created in any fine art media, produced in the last 3 years.  Works may not have been exhibited in  previouse Arts Council competitions. Works should not have been produced during a worshop or class.

Entry Fees: The nonrefundable fee is $30.00 for up to 3 works(Arts Council Members pay $20.00).  Each additional entry is $10.00, no maxium.

June 28      Deadline for work to arrive at gallery

July 4      Exhibit opens with reception at the Arts Council, 5-9 p.m.

Art For The Health of It -  April 2008

A collaborative effort with Southeast Missouri Hospital.  The juried show for southeast Missouri artists provides artwork for the hospital's surgical waiting corridor.  The purpose of the exhibit is to demonstrate the health and healing benefits of artistic images and expression.

1st Annual Junior Poster Contest for ArtsCape 2008

            Calling all Junior Artists!!!

            K-6th Grade and 7th - 12th Grade

            See your work displayed at  

                        Artscape

            Saturday, May 17, 2008    10:00 am- 6 pm

            Capaha Park, Cape Girardeau

           

            Deadline for entries is Thursday, May 16

                   Turn in all works to the Arts Council at 32 N. Main St. Cape Girardeau, MO

 

            Requirments for Entries:

            * all work done on minimum of 8 x 10 paper

            * all medium accepted

            * No fee necccessary for entry

 

            Please include with each entry (one per person)

                  3 x 5 index card with name, age, school and a few sentences about your work.  Clearly printed

 

            Winners and prizes will be announced on day of event

                  1 st - 3 rd place awarded in each age group

                  Judging based on People's Choice

This community arts festival is an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy the arts in a fair-type atmosphere.

CHRISTMAS ARTS & CRAFTERS EXTRAVGANZA 2008 - NOVEMBER

     Gather  your holiday shopping list and visit out 38th Annual Arts and Crafts Show. You will find a variety of merchandise including wopodcrafts, clothing, jewelry, pottery, dolls, home decorations, glass and much more.  More than 300 high-quality crafters will be on hand at two locations.  This event is one of the area's largest craft shows, attracting more than 10,000 visitors from all over the region.
