Catapult: Creative House,
612 Broadway Street, Follow on Facebook
Gallery: The Catapult Creative House is pleased to announce the opening of Re-Framed: The Alchemy of an Object, an exhibition curated by Joshua Newth, Instructor of Art at Southeast Missouri State University. For this exhibition, Professor Newth distributed an array of two dimensionally printed ornate frames (screen-prints, digitally printed images, and lithographs) to a diverse group of artists, community members, thinkers, and makers who were subsequently asked to use the frame as a platform for presenting an idea.

Whether viewed as an object or symbol, the frame is inextricably connected to the tradition and culture of art; it persists as a manner of protection, presentation, and as a complement to the work of art itself. And yet all too often a critical characteristic of the frame is ignored: its capacity to increase the significance of that which it surrounds.

We tap a cask ale with a mallet behind the bar at 4:00pm on the First Friday of every month. Enter your name with a firkin purchase for a chance to win a Minglewood T-Shirt.
