First Friday with the Arts is a community-centered event that takes place on the First Friday of every month except January. Established in 2003, First Friday with the Arts is an event initiated by local galleries and gallery-owners to encourage residents of the Southeast Missouri region to engage in the arts. Currently, each of the galleries located in and around Downtown Cape Girardeau participate in the monthly event by opening for later hours (from 5pm - 9pm), hosting Artist Receptions, as well as providing musicians, appetizers, and beverages to visitors of the event.

Contact the Arts Council if you are interested in joining! We can be reached by phone at (573)334-9233 or by email Bri DeWitt at bri@capearts.org.
