Suzanne grew up in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Cape Central High School.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Murray State University where she minored in art.  She attended graduate school at Iowa State receiving a Master’s in Industrial Relations.  After working for eight years for Union Carbide Corporation in the Human Resources Department, she and her husband Allen moved to Chattanooga with their three children.  Suzanne earned her Master’s in Art Education at UTC in 2000.  Her assemblage sculpture was selected for the UTC juried art show in 1999. 

She taught art for eight years with Hamilton County schools and was honored as Red Bank’s Educator of the Year in 2008.   Suzanne has worked at the McCallie School as the middle school art instructor since October of 2009.  She served two years as the chairperson of the McCallie Art Department and as the president of the Chattanooga Area Art Instructors for one year.  
Suzanne’s personal artwork includes a variety of mediums, but she has always held the most passion for drawing.   She has displayed her art regularly in AVA and CAAI member shows, as well as, juried shows for the Tennessee Art Education Association (TAEA), AVA and the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.  She has her artwork displayed in Chattanooga at the Business Development Center, the Mountain City Club, and other corporate spaces in Chattanooga.
 In the summer of 2013, she studied drawing with Murray State University drawing teacher, Dale Leys, in Prague. Suzanne has continued studying art taking workshops with the New Hampshire Art Institute, The Tennessee Arts Academy, and Lori Putnam.
