Tom Neumeyer is a professional photographer, providing wedding, portrait, and commercial work from his studio/home at 25 So. Lorimier Street in downtown Cape Girardeau. His photographs have earned recognition in juried competitions, including national awards. He teaches the art of photography through Semo University’s continuing education program.

Neumeyer is the author of the book “Cape Girardeau Then and Now,” a pictorial history of the city published by Semo’s Regional History Center. He co-authored “Historic Cape Girardeau: An Illustrated History” with Dr. Frank Nickell and Dr. Joel Rhodes. He is working on another book about legends and folklore of the region. He produced a photo-documentary on the rural elderly in cooperation with the Missouri Humanities Council several years ago.

He is a member of the Visual Arts Co-operative, the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri and its board of directors, River Region Photography Association, Southeast Missouri Writers Guild, and several civic and cultural organizations. A native of Cape Girardeau, he is a graduate of Semo University with a liberal arts degree in communications.
