Arts Council: 2020 Exhibition Proposals
Each year the Arts Council has 2-3 open months for solo, two-person, or group exhibitions. The exhibition schedule is established a year in advance at a spring meeting between March - May. The Arts Council is presently booked for solo exhibitions through 2019. Therefore, we do not recommend submitting proposals at this time.

Each application should include the following information:
  • Exhibit Proposal (Who will be exhibiting, what kind of works will be exhibited.)
  • Resume or List of Related Experiences
  • List of References (e.g. Galleries that you've exhibited at, arts groups that you are part of, etc.)
  • Portfolio of Works (High-Res Digital Images highly preferred; Images also accepted on a C.D. or by Physical Photographs of your Pieces. C.D.s and photographs will not be returned.)
We will file your request for a show, and after the Exhibit Committee's review of your request, we will let you know if we are able to schedule a show for you.

2017 Regional Juried Exhibition

Deadline: October 14, 2017

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is currently accepting entries for the 2017 Annual Regional Juried Exhibition. The opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Friday, December 1 from 5 - 9 pm. The show will remain on display until January 27, 2018 and will feature pieces by regional artists. The entry fee is $35 for non-members of the Arts Council and $30 for members.

2018 - 2019 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibitio

Deadline: October 23, 2017

The City of Cape Girardeau Public Art Committee is now accepting submissions from qualified sculptors to participate in the 2018 – 2019 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. Now in it’s fifth year, the location of the exhibition will be along the Broadway Corridor, a nine-block span in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The Cape Girardeau Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition is open to all applicants 18 and older. All entries must be original work and of safe design and construction. Acceptable entries may be existing works, completed prior to the submission, or detailed sculpture proposals. The selected works are to be on display in Cape Girardeau, MO from April 5, 2018 – April 5, 2019.

Photo Contest: “Halloween”
Deadline: October 24, 2017


In today’s world, nearly everybody has an opportunity to take photographs. If you take great pictures, Painted Wren Art Gallery (Cape Girardeau, MO) is offering you the chance to be recognized. Our contests will accept any photograph taken by any camera. Judging will take place a few days after each contest deadline has passed. Each contest will open for entries after the previous one has closed. Entry Fee: $10 for up to 3 photos, $3 each additional photo. Photo Size: No smaller than 8”x10” and not to exceed 16”x16.” Youth and Adult Divisions. Judges: Aaron Horrell and Barb Bailey.

Winners will be announced and awards given out at the FIRST FRIDAY WITH THE ARTS event at PAINTED WREN ART GALLERY. Best of Show: $75 and a custom frame up to $150 retail by StevMark, Alt. Best: $50, 1st: $30, 2nd: $25, 3rd: $20, two Honorable Mentions: $15 each
